Head Coach

Meghan Todd, a former swimmer and competitive athlete, brings a wealth of experience to her role as head coach. Her firsthand knowledge of the demands and challenges of elite competition enriches her coaching, allowing her to guide athletes with insight and empathy. This background fuels her commitment to fostering teamwork, leadership, and an environment where every swimmer can achieve their ultimate potential. Meghan's strategic approach and motivational skills make her a key figure in shaping the team's success. Her coaching philosophy centres on respect, excellence, and positivity. She fosters an environment where athletes are encouraged to excel both in and out of the pool, setting them up for success.  By emphasizing a respectful and supportive atmosphere, Meghan ensures that every team member can thrive and achieve their best.

Outside the pool, Meghan can be found on her mountain bike with her husband Mike and two kids Kai & Johanna.

Jessica Neil

Assistant Coach

Meet Coach Jess! With 7 years of coaching experience at TCSC, Jessica Neil brings a passion for both performance and fun to the pool. As a coach in the Nova Tech Program, she has encouraged swimmers to work hard while keeping the joy of the sport alive. Jessica is also a proud TCSC alum, having swum with the team for 11 years, with the 200 Fly as her signature event. This year, she is excited to work with a more diverse level of swimmers, helping them reach their full potential.

Shannon Read

Assistant Coach


Shannon’s early swim coaching experience include Head Coach positions with the Ft McMurray Mantarays, Cumberland Spartans, Kings / NS Provincial Special Olympics. She also spent quality time with David Fry assisting at DAL Swim Camps and completing NCCP Level 2 with Nigel Kemp.


Shannon is an NCCP Certified Competitive Coach for Triathlon and has coaching certifications in swim, bike, run fundamental movement skills. She is also Coach Developer for Triathlon and Fundamental Movement Skills. 


As a young athlete, Shannon enjoyed success swimming with the Mississauga Aquatic Club at a high level before transitioning to paddling and competing at the National level. A multisport athlete at heart she continued to swim while switching her focus to running in her late teens. She continues to compete occasionally in cycling, triathlon, run, and masters swim events.


Professionally, Shannon has a background in promoting active living, physical activity and recreation / sport at the municipal and provincial levels. She enjoys working with the team at the Healthy Tomorrows Foundation as a ( Doctors NS ) Kids Run Club Regional Coach and Consultant.


Shannon is looking forward to being part of the Centurions leadership team this season. Supporting young athletes to achieve personal goals and contributing to a positive dynamic team culture is an exciting opportunity.

Julie Crouse 

Assistant Coach

Julie is excited to be on deck coaching this year!  Julie was a competitive swimmer and heavily involved in lifeguard training and swimming lessons in her youth; she still swims as part of the Masters at the RECC. As a teacher at NSCC Julie is bringing a Masters of Education in Health Curriculum to the pool deck, helping her share fun and innovative practices along with experienced facilitation skills.  You may also see her on deck as an official or cheering in the stands as she is a proud swim mom.
